Business Analyst

Job Posting: Business Analyst 

The Business Analyst will serve as a critical liaison between our clients (court staff) and our Chief Product Manager, Chief Software Architect, and President and CEO. The successful candidate will immerse themselves in the client's business processes and court procedures, understand their current software usage, gather detailed requirements, and document workflows. This role requires a combination of analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex processes into clear documentation for our team.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in the beginning of a new product that will revolutionize the court systems in Ohio and beyond. 

Location: Hybrid - Remote and Mansfield, Ohio

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Client Engagement:
     
    • Meet with clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their processes, workflows, policies, and procedures.
    • Conduct detailed investigations and discussions to gather information on current software usage, data collection practices, and user preferences.
    • Identify gaps in current software functionality and gather requirements for new features.
  • Process Documentation:
     
    • Create comprehensive documentation including screenshots, Microsoft Visio diagrams, and narratives to provide a clear picture of court processes.
    • Ensure all documentation accurately reflects the client's needs.
  • Requirement Analysis:
     
    • Analyze and interpret client requirements to help shape the development of new software solutions.
    • Apply logical thinking and industry knowledge to help clients articulate their needs effectively.
  • Collaboration with Executive Team:
     
    • Serve as a critical liaison between our clients (court staff) and our Chief Product Manager and Executive Team to communicate client requirements and ensure understanding.
    • Provide ongoing support and clarification to the Executive Team as needed.
  • Quality Assurance:
     
    • Participate in software testing to ensure the final product meets client requirements and expectations.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements based on testing outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a software development or Court environment.
  • Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of court processes and judicial systems, Court case management systems, and Court eFiling systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio and other process documentation tools as well as experience with software testing and quality assurance processes.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to apply knowledge and logic to help clients vocalize their needs.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to understand and document complex processes, creating detailed workflows and documentation.
  • Strong time management skills, highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize work, be proactive, work independently without daily supervision, perform various duties, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings with a professional demeanor.
